Reynard: "Mackenzie Must Hate Private Sector"

The Democrat running for 134th House District says state Rep. Ryan Mackenzie's attacks are off base

Editor's Note: The following is a statement issued by the campaign of Democrat John Reynard in response to accusations from the re-election campaign of Republican state Rep. Ryan Mackenzie.

Ryan Mackenzie Must Hate Private Sector

Monday, September 10, 2012

Emmaus, PA – “First, he went after KidsPeace, a private charity that helps endangered youth, now Ryan Mackenzie attacks a small business owner with his baseless, factless charges,” said John Reynard, personal investment consultant and candidate against Mackenzie in the 134th House District.

Today, Ryan Mackenzie put out a press release accusing John Reynard of failing to register with the State Investment Advisor Registration Depository (IARD). The facts are that, before starting his business in 2010, and again today, Reynard contacted the State Securities Commission and found that Reynard was not required to register with the IARD.

“Mackenzie is shooting from the hip and is, yet again, showing that he doesn’t have the real world experience to represent us in Harrisburg,” Reynard added.

“I made sure that I was 100% within the law. It forces me to wonder what Ryan has against the private sector. We all saw his insidious and factless attacks on KidsPeace. I guess it’s my turn now. I guess he’s so contemptuous of people who make a living in the real world that all he can do is tear them down and attack them,” Reynard said.

Reynard also said, “I guess it just shows how desperate Ryan is to hold on to his government-created job that he can’t have an honest debate about the issues, but can only engage in false personal attacks. It’s precisely this kind of attack that causes regular, hard-working Pennsylvanians to despise the political process and the politicians that fill Harrisburg. This is unconscionable.”

Okay, so Mr. Reynard is (allegedly) not required to register with the IARD. (I'd like to see evidence of this--Mackenzie's camp at least provided the text of the law, Reynard's camp just wants us to go on his word.) I guess that means he receives compensation for giving no advice? Isn't this the kind of politician we're trying to take OUT of Harrisburg?
Also..."factless"? Really? Mr. Reynard actually used a term from the urban dictionary in an official campaign release? No wonder he can't find work outside of being a "financial consultant" that doesn't give any advice.

Makes no sense for Mackenzie to go negative here. As a small business owner "regulations" and "gov't categories" AKA red tape nonsense is my biggest fear/hurdle/pain in the ...... Mackenzie is going to win this easily. Why do this? Stay positive. Stay on the issues.

So, as it turns out, Ryan Mackenzie hates the private sector so much that he is endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business. I'd be interesting in hearing Mr. Reynard explain this one.

I am concerned. Emmaus is a part of your constituency and to the best of my knowledge you have notRead More had a Town Hall Meeting or any public meeting in this area. Why? Safety is as important in Lehigh County as in other counties and programs such as this should be made available to everyone.
