Meet Jeff Clapper, Emmaus Director of Public Works

For almost seven years, Clapper has led the efforts of the Emmaus Public Works Department.

Where do you live? Whitehall

Tell us a little about your family.

Clapper is married to Victoria. "Vicki" is interested in genealogy and has an artistic knack. She loves to draw, paint and do crafts. They have four Cairn terriers ("Toto dogs") that love to take walks.

What is your position within the Borough of Emmaus? How long have you worked here?

Clapper is Director of Public Works. He started working for the in August 1995.

"The Department maintains the , parks and athletic fields. We also maintain and operate the water system, and the sewage collection system as well as the roadways, signage, compost center and the winter snow plowing."

What do you enjoy about working in Emmaus?

"I enjoy working for the community and try my best to maintain the high standard that Emmaus is known for. The Borough has a small town feel that makes working here so special."

What are some of your greatest challenges?

"Usually my biggest challenge is trying to fit in all the tasks that we are charged with completing."

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

"I enjoy working in my yard and spending time with my family when I am not working."

Tell us something others might not know about you, but would find interesting.

"I am a veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division Special Forces."
