1. It's hopeful that the Emmaus Community Pool will reopen in time for the Labor Day Weekend.  It largely whether a manufacturer can get a part needed to fix the pool pump to the borough in the next few days.

Today in History: Mount Vesuvius erupted in southern Italy, burying the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum under volcanic material and mud on this day in 79 A.D. Most people fled the city but some 2,000 stayed in Pompeii in cellars and stone structures hoping to wait out the eruption. Those who remained in Pompeii were killed when a cloud of toxic gas enveloped the city. They were covered in volcanic ash that hardened and preserved the outline of their bodies. Their remains and the rest of the city are frozen in time.
