Emmaus Man Announces Bid for Borough Council

Roy Anders, an active borough volunteer, will run for Emmaus Borough Council.

Roy Anders, 42, recently threw his hat into the ring for the Democratic nomination in the race for Emmaus Borough Council.

Anders works as a Retail Unit Manager with Acosta Sales and Marketing. Acosta is described on the company's website as the "leading outsourced sales and marketing agency serving consumer packaged goods companies and retailers across the United States and Canada."

Anders is an active member of the community, volunteering with the Emmaus Youth Association as a Board Member, boys basketball coordinator, girls intramural softball coordinator, and webmaster. He also is a volunteer on the Emmaus Borough Parks and Recreation Commission and regularly attends Emmaus Borough Council meetings.

"When you love where you live, it's easy to give back," said Anders in a prepared statement announcing his candidacy. "Emmaus has become a true stand-out community in the Lehigh Valley over the last 10-plus years and I want to continue this progress."

Anders has been married to his wife, Jennifer, for 12 years and has two daughters, Alicia and Vanessa, and a son, Jacob.
