Emmaus Anniversary Gallery Unveiled in Borough Hall

Official dedication ceremony held Tuesday in Emmaus Borough Hall at 6:30 p.m.

Emmaus Borough residents can now enjoy a newly redecorated lobby in Emmaus Borough Hall that is about a whole lot more than a fresh coat of paint.

The lobby, dubbed the Emmaus Anniversary Gallery, is filled with memorabilia from the borough’s anniversary years of 1959 and 2009, as well as limited-edition prints of the original artwork created for the official borough Christmas card.

The Emmaus Arts Commission gathered the keepsakes from the borough’s Bicentenial and Sesquicentennial anniversaries at the request of Emmaus Borough Council. Community members also donated artifacts for the lobby project.

The refurbished lobby also houses the collection of limited-edition prints created by Emmaus artist Bob Boehmer as the “cover” image for the official Emmaus Christmas card. A member of the Emmaus Arts Commission, Boehmer has created an original watercolor painting for the borough since 2004.

Residents and visitors can view this special gallery Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Emmaus Borough Hall, 28 South 4th Street, Emmaus.
