Council Approves 'School's Out' Concert in Triangle

The band School's Out will perform in Triangle Park on May 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Emmaus Borough Council approved an upcoming music concert in with one string attached – that the Special Entertainment Commission make visits to the businesses around Triangle Park to let them know that the concert is coming and what they can expect.

The band “Schools Out” will perform on the Triangle on Sat. May 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the concert is being advertised as a family-friendly event. Emmaus Borough Council just wants to make sure it is a business-friendly evening too.

That’s why council strongly suggested at its April 16 meeting that the Special Entertainment Commission connect with the business owners around the Triangle and talk about the concert to make sure the businesses are aware of things that might impact them, such as street closings.

“It would be good for the commission to reach out,” said Borough Councilman Mike Waddell. “I would prefer that and I would ask that it be at least two weeks in advance. I would like to give them plenty of notice in case they want to (do something like) stay open late that evening.”
