Candidates for 134th House Seat Receive Questionnaire

Patch has sent questionnaires to the candidates vying for the open 134th District House seat in the April Special Election, as well as the candidates in the Republican primary.

Voters in the 134th District will have several decisions in front of them when they enter the voting booth on April 24.

First, they will choose in a Special Election a candidate to fill the House seat that has been open since left the legislature for the judicial branch in January. In that race, of Lower Macungie is facing off against Republican nominee .

The winner of the Special Election will serve the remaining seven months of Reichley's term.

Republican voters will also be asked to choose a candidate to run for the 134th House seat in the General Election in November. In that primary race, the candidates are MacKenzie and Arlene Dabrow of Lower Macungie.

Slattery is uncontested in the Democratic primary and will run in November against whoever wins the Republican primary on April 24.

This week, Patch contacted all three candidates sent them a questionnaire so voters can get to know them better and get a sense of their views on various issues impacting the District and the Commonwealth.

A copy of the questionnaire is attached.

The candidates were instructed to return their answers by Monday, April 16. Their responses will be posted on Thursday, April 19.

The 134th District includes Emmaus and Macungie boroughs and Upper Milford, South Whitehall, Salisbury and Lower Macungie townships.
