Authenticity of Donches' Meeting Video Questioned

John Eyer, 331 N. 2nd St., asked Councilman R. Erik Reinhard if he could be sure video of Budget and Finance Committee meeting made by John Donches hadn't been "doctored."

His voice a little “froggy” from his recent stint as , John Eyer addressed during the public comment portion of Monday night’s meeting to thank all of the people who had helped to make the such a success.

Eyer, who lives at 331 N. 2nd St. also wanted to ask a question about something discussed earlier in the meeting – videotapes of the Oct. 6 Budget and Finance Committee meeting made by .

“Do you have any assurance that the videos haven’t been doctored?” Eyer asked Councilman R. Erick Reinhard, who had earlier expressed his appreciation for the videos, which he said Donches makes available for Emmaus residents to watch online.

“He did say he takes some excerpts out,” Reinhard responded. “But he has them in full elsewhere.”

Reinhard said Donches had given him the committee meeting video on CD-ROM and that he watched it at home on his DVD player.

The committee meeting video was brought up following the Budget and Finance Committee report, when Reinhard thanked fellow Councilman Brent Labenberg for the “many good comments and suggestions” he had made during the meeting.

Reinhard also said how much he appreciated being able to watch the meeting, which he couldn’t attend, on video.

Reinhard is a member of the three-member Budget and Finance Committee. The other Budget and Finance Committee members are Brian Hotzhafer, committee chair, and Lee Ann Gilbert, council president.
