2013 Upper Milford Budget Workshop Tonight

Upper Milford Board of Supervisors agreed at its Oct. 4 meeting to hold special workshop meeting to begin delving into the 2013 township budget. That session is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 18 in the township building.

The Upper Milford Township Board of Supervisors will publicly delve into the 2013 budget for the first time tonight during a special workshop meeting specifically scheduled for that purpose.

That meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. in the township building, comes two weeks after Township Manager Dan DeLong handed out copies of a draft budget he’d created to board members, telling them he was giving them a “head start” in the 2013 budget review process.

As a next step, he recommended that the board schedule a workshop meeting. Tonight's workshop meeting will be followed by the board's regularly scheduled meeting at 7:30.

In other business at the Oct. 4 Board of Supervisors meeting, the board agreed to split up a pair of older dump trucks in the township fleet whose usefulness and monetary value has been questioned by the township in recent months.

The township will sell Truck #10, a four-wheel-drive truck, setting it out in front of the township building for a period with a sign indicating how interested parties can go about submitting a bid.

According to the township web site, that truck, which also includes a plow and accessories, is currently up for sale through a timed online auction known as “municibid.” It can be found by searching listing #14103.

The township will keep Truck #5, a medium-duty dump truck to be used exclusively to apply brine in bad weather.

The township originally put Truck #5 up for sale last spring through municibid.
