Upper Milford Couple Allegedly Deceived into Giving Man $4,500

Orefield man is charged with theft by deception.

An Upper Milford Township couple were the victims of a ruse in June in which they gave a man $4,500, according to police.

Rick Moll of Orefield was charged by state police at Fogelsville for theft by deception, according to a news release on Sunday.

Police said Edward and Diane Felegy of 4972 Chestnut St. were the victims in the crime. Moll made up a story to convince the Felegy's to give him $4,500 at about 3 p.m. June 24, police said.

Contacted today, Feb. 14, Diane Felegy did not wish to elaborate on the circumstances involved, but said the delay in filing the charges came because they believed the money would be repaid, but it was not.
