Upper Milford Burglar Smashes Door to Gain Access

Homeowner says she was gone just an hour, police say.

A burglar made the most of a window of opporunity -- in more ways than one -- to enter an Upper Milford Township residence, according to police.

First the burglar used a large rock to smash a double-paned sliding door and gain access to the home on Columbus Drive, according to . The thief used another window of opportunity -- just an hour -- while the 59-year-old woman left her residence between 2 and 3 p.m. June 22. In that time, the burglar gained access and rummaged through dresser drawers.

Unknown items were taken, police said, so no loss value was given.

In another Upper Milford incident, a Vera Cruz-area man reported a package stolen from his front step, police said. Eduardo DeJesus of 4672 Vera Cruz Road, Apt. D, said the item was taken between June 15 and 20.

He said the package contained a ring, a $40 money order and candy, police said. Police did not say whether the ring was valuable nor did they give a total value of the theft. They also asked that anyone with information call 610-395-1438.
