Teen Hurt When Car Hits Dead Deer on Route 29

State police at Fogelsville said the car went into the air for a moment after striking the dead deer on Route 29 in Upper Milford.

A Bally teen was injured Sunday morning when her car struck a dead deer on Route 29 (Chestnut Street) in Upper Milford.

State police at Fogelsville said Lydia Vanvalkenburgh, 18, was taken by Emmaus ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for treatment of moderate injuries. 

According to police, Vanvalkenburgh was northbound on Route 29, near Beck Street, at 6 a.m. when her front bumper struck the dead deer in the roadway. The car went into the air for a moment, landing on Route 29 in the northbound lane. She was able to drive about a mile before parking the car in a lot just north of Mill Road.
