Snow Contributes to Upper Milford Crash, Police Say

One SUV is unable to stop and strikes another, troopers report.

Snow caused slippery roads that contributed to a recent accident in Upper Milford Township, police said.

A Perkiomenville, Montgomery County, driver was injured in an accident at 6:10 p.m. March 18, according to state police at Fogelsville. The other motorist was unhurt.

Nicholas DiFrancesco, 21, was southbound on Chestnut Street when he slowed for the snow-covered roadway, police said. Biao Xu, 44, of Collegeville, Montgomery County, was behind in his Toyota Rav 4 and was unable to stop in time to avoid driving into the back of DiFrancesco's Jeep Cherokee.

The two drivers were able to pull their SUVs into a driveway at 6971 Chestnut St., police said.

DiFrancesco received an injury of unknown severity, police said. He was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by Cetronia Ambulance Corps.

Xu was unhurt, police said.

Xu was cited for failing to drive at a safe speed, police said.
