Purse Stolen from Area Car Wash
Driver mistakenly left valuables behind; incident is being investigated as theft, police say.
It all goes back to something your mother must have told you as a child: If something doesn't belong to you, leave your hands off it.
That would have been good advice, should the person get caught who recently made off with a bag containing a purse and other items found at a Route 100 car wash.

The woman removed the bag about 2:15 p.m. Aug. 10 from her car as she was cleaning it, police said. A woman in her 30s driving a gray four-door vehicle, possibly a Hyundai, with no wheel covers and a sticker above the exhaust, pulled into the slot where the previous driver had been. The second driver had brown hair and was wearing a green tank top and white pants.
The bag with the valuables was no longer there when the victim returned.

That second driver is believed to have taken the bag, which included the purse and other belongings, police said.
The incident was classified a theft rather than a lost item.
