Police: Hit-Run Driver Struck Upper Milford Utility Pole

The following information was supplied by troopers at the barracks in Fogelsville. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

An Emmaus-area woman fled the scene of an accident recently in which her vehicle struck a utility pole, according to police.

Janel Norton, 20, eventually was located and was transported by Emmaus EMS for medical evaluation, according to . She displayed signs of intoxication, prompting blood tests. Police said charges of driving under the influence will be filed when results are received.

Norton was driving south in the area of 5902 Vera Cruz Road at 10:50 p.m. June 16 when her car went off the western edge of the roadway, police said. Her car received disabling damage after striking the utility pole.

In another Upper Milford incident, an unidentified victim reported a bicycle stolen from 4629-3 Indian Creek Road, police said. A yellow, 21-speed Lacrosse bicycle was taken from the victim's front yard between 10 p.m. June 11 and 7 a.m. June 12. No value was provided, but police ask that anyone with information call them at 610-395-1438.
