Police: Hit-Run Driver Sought in Upper Milford Crash

Vehicle slid on slushy roads and took out mailboxes, troopers report.

State police are looking for a vehicle that slid on a slushy Vera Cruz Road N. on Christmas Eve and crashed into mailboxes in Upper Milford Township.

The driver kept going after the crash, making it a hit-and-run accident, according to state police at Fogelsville.

The vehicle, for which police said they do not have a description, was traveling downhill on Vera Cruz Road N. about 9:30 p.m. The driver was traveling too fast for conditions and slid off the eastern side of the roadway. It continued on another 200 feet across Quarry Drive where it struck three mailboxes belonging to 3471 Quarry Drive but on the eastern berm of Vera Cruz Road, police said.

The driver left the scene without reporting the accident, police said. Police did not know the extent of vehicular damage or whether the driver was injured.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call 610-395-1438.

I am concerned. Emmaus is a part of your constituency and to the best of my knowledge you have notRead More had a Town Hall Meeting or any public meeting in this area. Why? Safety is as important in Lehigh County as in other counties and programs such as this should be made available to everyone.
