Police: Car Strikes Boulder and Flips in Upper Milford

The driver is unhurt. She took her eyes off the road to look at a GPS then lost control trying to avoid a deer, troopers report.

A GPS, deer and boulder recently conspired to turn a Chester County driver's world upside down along an Upper Milford Township highway, police said.

Alcohol may have contributed as well, according to police, but charges are pending test results.

Kerry E. McMeekin, 24, of West Chester was travelling south on Chestnut Street at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 20, according to state police at Fogelsville. She took her eyes off the road to view a GPS. When she looked back at the road, she saw a deer and swerved to avoid a collision.

However, her Honda Civic spun off the roadway and into the yard at 7720 Chestnut St., police said. There, the car struck a boulder and turned onto its roof.

McMeekin was uninjured, police said.
