Man Took Washer, Dryer From David’s Appliance, Police Say

An Emmaus man has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property after he admitted to taking several appliances from behind David's Appliance.

Emmaus Police have arrested an Emmaus man after he admitted to taking an air conditioner, washer and dryer from behind David’s Appliance on Main Street in Emmaus.

Jesse Weiss, 22, of N. Third Street, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property after a David’s Appliance employee spotted the missing appliances in the back of a pickup truck parked on North Third Street, according to Emmaus Police.

The owner of the truck, Weiss, was interviewed and admitted to the theft, police say.

Police have not yet made an arrest in an earlier appliance theft reported by David’s Appliance. In a May 20 incident, police say two refrigerators were taken from behind the business.

The appliances, which were stored out back for parts, are valued at $50, police say.
