Pair Steals Checks, Credit Card, Police Say

They used Upper Milford woman's credit card and tried to cash stolen checks, troopers report.

Two Allentown men have been jailed for using an Upper Milford Township woman's credit card and trying to cash checks they stole from her, police said.

Anthony Jamel Slocum and Erick Manuel Chacon were unable to post bail after their arrests April 11, according to state police at Fogelsville.

Police said they were investigating a burglary at a home in the 3800 block of Main Road when it was discovered that the men had stolen checks and the credit card. They made purchases with the credit card and tried to cash the stolen checks, police said.

Police did not say how they became aware the men made the purchases and tried to cash the checks. They also did not say the amount of money involved.

The two were being held in Lehigh County Prison, Chacon under $15,000 bail and Slocum $25,000, according to online court records.

They each face two counts of forgery and one each of receiving stolen property, possessing an access device knowing it is counterfeit and conspiracy receiving stolen property, the records show.
