Man Receives Facial Injuries in Vera Cruz Crash

Police also issue citations for alleged violations including driving under the influence and underage drinking.

An Allentown-area man received facial injuries May 26 from a motor vehicle accident in Upper Milford Township, but police gave him a few more reminders from the night after they suspected him of driving under the influence and underage drinking.

Michael David Schneider, 20, of 5368 Hanover Road, was traveling west on Jasper Road in Vera Cruz about 1:35 a.m. when his Mercury Mountaineer failed to negotiate a turn, said . His vehicle left the roadway and its passenger front end struck one tree, then another.

But police also said they learned he had been drinking alcohol. They said they have charged him with driving under the influence, underage drinking, careless driving, driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed and a minor prohibited from operating a motor vehicle with any amount of alcohol in their system.
