Honda's 'Really Big Thing Sales Event' Wasn't Meant to be Free

At least fourth car is taken from Emmaus lot this year, police say, totaling more than $130,000.

Honda wants us to like its cars by bombarding us with the "Really Big Thing Sales Event" television commercials. But thieves this year have found deals they like even better at Honda: free.

Another thief has struck at Lehigh Valley Honda, this time picking out a Honda Pilot, according to .

This makes at least four vehicles taken from the lot at 675 State Ave. since the start of the year, according to police reports since then. Two Accord Crossovers were taken in January, a Pilot in March and now another Pilot reportedly was taken April 12. The total value is $130,000.

The most recent theft was detected during a recent dealership inventory, police said.

Theft: Reported April 15 in the 200 block of N. Second Street; a vehicle registration plate was reported stolen.

Arson: Reported April 13 at , 1401 Shimerville Road; restrooms damaged by fire; police said the incident is being investigated as arson.

Access device fraud: Reported April 12 by a resident; $835 worth of fraudulent, unauthorized on-line transactions, police said.

Charged: 14-year-old girl April 5 with aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct; student assaulted a hall monitor, police said; charges filed with the Lehigh County Juvenile Probation Department.
