Hazardous Waste Barrels Dumped in Upper Milford, Police Say

Barrels contained transmission fluid, brake fluid and diesel fuel or kerosene, troopers report.

Someone recently chose a low-use Upper Milford Township roadside to discard their hazardous liquids, police said.

Four 40-gallon, blue plastic barrels were left along Scout Road between Rock and Geisinger roads. The barrels were left between 10 p.m. April 16 and 12:30 p.m. April 17, according to state police at Fogelsville. The barrels contained water, automatic transmission fluid, brake fluid and deisel fuel or kerosene.

Police did not say how full each barrel was or whether any of the liquid spilled. However, they did not report any emergency response or clean-up.
