First Niagara Robbery is No. 7 for Emmaus

There have been seven bank robberies in the Borough of Emmaus in the past 21 months, according to Emmaus Patch reports.

Thursday morning’s armed robbery at the First Niagara Bank at 502 State Street is the seventh bank robbery to happen in the borough in 21 months, according to Emmaus Patch reports. On average, that’s a bank robbery every three months.

The April 12 robbery is the second to happen at that First Niagara branch in six months.

Yesterday’s armed robbery at is the first confirmed bank robbery in Emmaus in 2012.

The issued the following statement about the robbery at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Thursday:

On Thursday, April 12, 2012 at approximately 10:55 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at the First Niagara  Bank 502 State Ave. Emmaus PA. One person fled the bank after the robbery. There were no injuries. It is under investigation by the Emmaus Police Department.
