Pickup truck behind biker was unable to stop at an intersection and ran into him, troopers say.
An Emmaus man was moderately injured recently when a pickup truck drove into his motorcycle while he was stopped at a Lower Macungie intersection, police said.
Patrick B. Moore, 72, of Emmaus, fell to the ground about 1:30 p.m. Oct. 6 after his Harley-Davidson FLHT Classic was struck from behind, according to state police at Fogelsville. He was taken to an area hospital by Macungie Ambulance Corps with unspecified injuries.
Both vehicles were traveling on Lower Macungie Road and attempting to turn right onto Cedar Crest Boulevard. The Chevrolet Silverado 2500 truck, driven by Michael J. Ring, 62, of Allentown, was unable to stop in time and struck Moore's motorcycle, police said. Both vehicles came to rest in the right-turn lane.
