Emmaus Man Found Dead on Game Preserve Road

An Emmaus man fatally shot himself and was found near Lehigh Valley Zoo on Sunday.

The Lehigh County Coroner identified the man found dead Sunday off Game Preserve Road as Neil DeFluri, 71, of Emmaus.

DeFluri, whose body was found near a car along the road, was a suicide, Coroner Scott Grim said. He lived on Lenape Lane.

DeFluri apparently died from a gunshot wound, according to Lehigh Valley Live.

It was the sixth suicide in Lehigh County in a week, and the second in North Whitehall, the coroner said.

Quakertown man was found dead in North Whitehall in the woods along Cobbler Lane off Old Post Road on the Fourth of July.

On July 1, a Macungie man fatally shot himself in front of the borough police station.
