Emmaus Halloween 5K and Parade Bigger and Better Than Ever

Record-breaking parade participation fills the Borough of Emmaus on a perfect fall night.

Members of the Emmaus Halloween Parade Committee couldn't have asked for a better night for the 2012 Emmaus Halloween Parade.

Thousands of residents and out-of-towners lined Emmaus streets as colorful floats, dancers, school bands, fire departments and local service organizations waved to the crowds.

Prior to the parade, the annual Emmaus Halloween 5K was another success as costumed runners entertained the crowds as they raced to the finish at Triangle Park.

According to parade officials, this was Emmaus's largest parade yet.

"We had five divisions with a minimum of 14 slots in each, seven bands, 13 marching groups, 20 marching groups with a float, 26 small and large floats, and three fire companies and ambulance corps. Then we had 14 security cars provided by Delaware Lehigh Amateur Radio Club," said committee chairwoman Kathy Mintzer.
