Emmaus Bank Robbery Suspect in Custody

An arrest has been made in an armed robbery at the Santander Bank at 1215 Chestnut St. Thursday morning, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.

An arrest has been made in connection with an armed bank robbery in Emmaus Thursday morning, according to a press release from the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.  

The robbery happened at 11:35 a.m. at the Santander Bank at 1215 Chestnut St. when a single person entered the bank and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, the release says.

The alleged robber was apprehended a short time later near the intersection of Cedar Crest Boulevard and Pine Street, according to the DA's office.

No injuries have been reported.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Emmaus Police Department at 610-967-3113.

Emmaus Police were assisted by the Macungie Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pennsylvania State Police, Salisbury Township Police Department, the Lehigh County Drug Task Force, the Lehigh County Sheriff’s Department and the Emmaus Police Department K-9 Unit.
