DUIs Highlight Police Activities

State police release Upper Milford Township incidents.

State police recently reported two arrests for allegedly driving under the influence and another involving the unauthorized use of a credit card in Upper Milford Township.

In the first incident, Verona McCord of 6616 Kings Highway told police Feb. 6 that an unknown person used her credit card three times without her consent. That person made three purchases totaling $527.93, said police, who classified the activity as access device fraud.

Police also said they charged one operator with driving under the influence, and issued three citations and 18 written warnings for vehicle violations during a five-hour sobriety checkpoint conducted March 25 and 26.

Police arrested Christopher Duhaime, 22, of East Greenville with DUI during the checkpoint held in the 4000 block of Chestnut Street.

Police also reported a separate DUI arrest on March 18. Paul Heaphy, 30, of Mertztown was stopped at 8:28 a.m. for an equipment violation at Chestnut Street and Yeakels Mill Road, police said. However, Heaphy appeared to be intoxicated and was taken into custody.

DA Jim Martin will likely drag his feet on these DUIs like he did in this DUI homicide case ... http://bloggingdottie.blogspot.com/2009/03/da-martin-year-to-file-charges-in-dui.html

These "checkpoints" need to be upgraded if they are to stop INTOXICATED drivers. If you smell of booze you automatically get a test, those on Prozac, Xanax, and many many other legal over the counter and prescription drugs get a free pass because you can not smell them. I've drank 4 beers in an hour, I've had Prozac, I've had Xanax. Out of the three of them, the beers were the LEAST of the bunch to get me "intoxicated" Test one, test all is the ONLY fair way. Only testing those who smell of alcohol is discrimination at its finest!

In DA Jim Martin's Lehigh County, DUI "justice" is based on social status. Take Judy Fulmer, for example. For nearly killing Jane Baker while driving drunk, Judy got house arrest. But if you read page 9 of the Criminal Docket (click link below), you'll see that Judy Fulmer was allowed to leave her house any time she wanted ... some VIPunishment ... http://ujsportal.pacourts.us/docketsheets/CPReport.aspx?docketNumber=CP-39-CR-0001911-2000 For more dirty facts on DA Jim Martin (in an election year), click this ... http://bloggingdottie.blogspot.com/2011/03/district-attorney-james-b-martin-dirty.html

If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, perhaps it's a duck. Some of the people that chime in certainly have an agenda, but based on these articles and details, - how can anyone of sound mind and good conscience support Mr. Martin?
