Driver Not Hurt When Car Hits Tree in Zionsville

Crash was Monday morning on Powder Valley Road; driver to be cited for violating 'driving at safe speed' law, police say.

A 2000 Toyota Camry hit a tree Monday morning on Powder Valley Road in Zionsville, but the driver was not hurt, police say.

However, Jonathan P. Lenig, 20, who has an Allentown address and was driving the Toyota, will be cited for violating the law for driving vehicle at safe speed, according to state police at Fogelsville.

Police said Lenig's Toyota was southbound when it hit a tree at 6415 Powder Valley Road in the Zionsville section of Upper Milford Township. Lenig was wearing a seat belt during the 8:37am crash, a state police fax said.

Lenig was driving through a left curve when he lost control of his car. After hitting the tree, the car came to rest on the northbound shoulder facing south, the fax said.

The Toyota had "disabling front-end damage" and had to be towed by Faust Towing.
