Driver Badly Hurt in Upper Milford Crash, Police Say
His truck struck and snapped a utility pole, troopers report.
A Bethlehem man was seriously hurt Thursday when his pickup truck slammed into and snapped a utility pole in Upper Milford Township, according to police.
Steven J. Aronson, 54, was the driver who received major injuries in the 8:03 a.m. accident, according to state police at Fogelsville. The crash occurred in front of 4402 Main Road W.
Rescue personnel from the Emmaus Fire Department were called to the scene, and the roadway was icy, according to scanner transmissions. The police report did not mention whether extrication was required.

However, Aronson was transported to a hospital by Emmaus Ambulance Corps.
Aronson's Ford Ranger was headed west on Main Road West when he crossed into the opposing lane and struck the utility pole, police said.

He was cited for driving too fast for conditions, police said.
Main Road West was shut down afterward until the roadway was salted, according to scanner transmissions.
The Upper Milford Township Fire Department Eastern District assisted.
