Emmaus police charge teen at 2:10 a.m. with intending to steal from dealership on 'hot-spot' Auto Mile.

A 17-year-old Bethlehem youth allegedly may have picked the wrong place and  time to prowl a car lot.

The unidentified juvenile was arrested at 2:10 a.m. April 19 while on the lot at , 501 State Ave., according to Emmaus police. He had "instruments of crime," which are essentially tools to remove car parts, police said.

The Kelly Dealerships lots are a section of the Auto Mile that includes Emmaus, Salisbury Township and Allentown dealerships. At least four have been stolen from nearby car dealers this year as well as license plates, police reports have shown.

The teen was found on the lot April 19 and charged with possession of instruments of crime, possession of a prohibited offensive weapon (metal knuckles), unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving without a license, police said. He was committed to the Lehigh County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Police said they do not believe the teen has been involved in the thefts from other lots.
