4 Hurt in Rear-End Collision in Upper Milford, Police Say

3 are moderately hurt in Wednesday accident, troopers report.

A three-vehicle rear-end collision Wednesday injured four people in Upper Milford Township, police said.

The crash began when Matthew E. Ollikainen, 39, of Green Lane, Montgomery County, was driving south on Chestnut Street about a quarter-mile north of Colebrooke Avenue about 3:40 p.m. April 17. Ollikainen could not stop his minivan in time and struck from behind a Ford Edge driven by Matthew T. German, 48, of Collegeville, Montgomery County, according to state police at Fogelsville.

German's vehicle was pushed into a Ford Crown Victoria operated by Michael P. Kapustic, 60, of Catasauqua, police said.

German and Kapustic complained of head and neck injuries and were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by Macungie Ambulance Corps, police said. Kapustic's passenger, Abraham Gross, 47, town unlisted, was taken to the same hospital by Macungie Ambulance Corps for neck injuries. All injuries were listed by police as moderate.

Ollikainen, the driver of the first vehicle, had slight injuries, police reported, but did not require medical transport.

No charges were listed in the report.

Upper Milford fire police assisted, police said.
