Mold Remediation Doesn’t Stop Learning at Seven Gen

Seven Generations Charter School principal shares school's creative approach for dealing with mold shut-down.

The school community is used to working hard to meet challenges and to solving problems in a creative way. That’s what happened during two weeks in late December when the school was faced with a . We closed for three days while additional testing was conducted, but results indicated the need for . To ensure that our academic program would continue uninterrupted, teachers, staff, and Board of Trustees members reached out to some of our community partners and devised a special Seven Generations “Field Trip Week.”

Thanks to great teamwork and fantastic hosts, including Da Vinci Science Center, Lehigh Valley Zoo, , Allentown Public Library, Civic Theatre of Allentown, Cedar Crest College and Rodale Aquatic Center, the challenge presented by mold led to four days of amazing learning opportunities for students and staff. Teachers and parents compiled a collection of photographs to share the fun.
