Introducing Visions for Vacancies

Visions for Vacancies is a new feature where we ask readers what they'd like to see in vacant storefronts in the Nazareth area.

I wrote a story yesterday about in downtown Nazareth suddenly closing its doors.

After , the once-bustling storefront -- and the alluring smell of pizza and garlic knots -- is now a thing of the past.

Or is it?

There's no doubt that another business or restaurant -- or even another pizzeria -- may some day take the place of Goodfellas. But I'd like to know what you'd like to see in its place.

This is all part of a new feature Nazareth Patch -- and a lot of its sister sites -- is launching called "" or ""

So, think about what you'd like to see at this storefront, at 113 S. Main St. What does the neighborhood need that's not already there? Let us know in the comments.

Unfortunately no one can afford rent. In addition to poor parking options, the landlords want too much rent for their properties so shops cannot stay in business long enough to begin to do well. They need to hire a downtown manager who works with everyone to make a successful downtown. Stroudsburg and Easton have both done this and their towns have been transformed.

I would like to see a produce market with good quality produce at reasonable prices like valley farm markets.
