Richard B. Snyder, 83, of Emmaus, died March 30, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Janet K. (Wetherhold) Snyder. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in May 2011. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Paul S. and Elma (Buchecker) Snyder. He was the owner of Richard B. Snyder Plumbing for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of , Emmaus where he served as a deacon and elder and was the head of the church building committee. He was a member of the Emmaus Lion’s Club, also a Melvin Jones Fellow and served as head of the clam chowder committee for many years, served as past president and secretary of the Allentown and Emmaus Master Plumbers Association, and was a member of the board for Emmaus Building and Loan Association.
Survivors: Wife Janet; Sons, Richard L. Snyder and wife Brenda of Allentown, Thomas D. Snyder and wife Susan of Emmaus, and Jay A. Snyder and wife Melinda of Emmaus; Daughter, Susan J. wife of Dale Mickley of Gainesville, FL; 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Althea Urffer of Emmaus and Mary Shelhamer of Macungie.
Services: Memorial and Lion’s Club Services Wed., April 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. in St. John’s U.C.C., 139 North 4th St., Emmaus. Visitation 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Online condolence may be made to www.schantzfh.com
