Obituary: Carlton H. Gruber, 86

Carlton H. Gruber, 86, of Emmaus, died July 1, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Carlton H. Gruber, 86, of Emmaus, died July 1, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Betty J. (Miller) Gruber. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Henry P. and Edith S. (Gerhart) Gruber. He worked for the former Gruber’s Flowers and the laundry mat at the corner of 6th and Chestnut Street for many years. He was a member of , where he served as sexton for 24 years. He was assistant scoutmaster, scoutmaster and commissioner for the Boy Scouts and was a life member of the quarter midget club. He honorably served his country in the Marines during WWII.  

Survivors: Wife; Son, Phillip C. Gruber and wife Susan of Emmaus; Daughter, Phyllis Ann Gruber of Emmaus; Step-grandsons, David and Michael Baun; Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by a step-granddaughter, Lisa Binkley.             

Services: Funeral Services Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. in , 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.  Interment with military honors will follow in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery.
