Obituary: Former Emmaus Mayor Barry W. Barto, 69

Barry W. Barto, 69, of Emmaus, died on Sept. 8, 2013.

Barry W. Barto, 69, of Emmaus, died Sept. 8, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice. He was the husband of Donna P. (Weaver) Barto, with whom he celebrated 46 years of marriage on January 28, 2013. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Wayne W. and May (Eck) Barto. Barry graduated from Emmaus High School and Dickinson College. He was an independent furniture representative for many years serving territories throughout the Northeast. He was a member of St. John’s U.C.C., Emmaus. Barry volunteered with the Emmaus Ambulance Corp for 20 years and served as the Mayor of Emmaus from 1994 to 1997.     

Survivors: 
Wife; Sons, Brian B. Barto and wife Allison of West Chester and Brett B. Barto and companion Kimberly Scola of Thornton; Sister, Bonnie M. wife of Robert Burdette of Emmaus; Sister-in-law, Joanne C. Evans of Emmaus; Nephews, Jason Burdette and wife Ashley of Houston, TX and Bradley Burdette and wife Kristen of Bala Cynwyd. 

Services:  
Memorial Services will be held Sat., Sept. 21, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John’s U.C.C., 139 North 4th St., Emmaus. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family. Schantz Funeral Home P.C., Emmaus is handling arrangements.
