What's Open and Closed This Veterans Day

Here's a look at what's open and closed this Monday, Nov. 11.

Monday, Nov. 11 is Veterans Day, a federal holiday in honor of those veterans who served and sacrificed for their country. 

While many businesses remain open, many government offices are closed for the holiday. Here's a look at what's open and closed this Monday, Nov. 11:

U.S. Post Office is closed. There will also be no mail pickup or delivery.

East Penn School District Schools are open. The East Penn School Board will meet at 6 p.m. for a special meeting to select a replacement school board member to fill the seat vacated by Julian Stolz. The regular school board meeting is at 7:30 p.m.

Emmaus Borough offices are closed.

Upper Milford Township municipal offices are open.

Magisterial District Judge Donna Butler's office in Emmaus is closed.

Lehigh County Courthouse is closed. 

Lehigh County Government Offices are closed.

State Offices are closed.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driver's license and photo centers are closed. (Online services are available. www.dmv.state.pa.us)

Federal Offices are closed. 

Most Pennsylvania Liquor Stores will be open per their regularly scheduled hours, some will have alternate hours or remain closed on Veterans' Day. Please call ahead. You can find a directory of PA Wine & Spirits Stores and phone numbers at www.FineWineandGoodSpirits.com. 

Most Restaurants and Stores will be open regular hours at owner's discretion, but you might want to call ahead to double check. A full list of Emmaus area businesses can be found in our directory here

Veterans Day 2013 is a National Bank Holiday and most banks will be closed. However, not every bank observes the same holiday schedule and it is possible that some larger banks could be open.
