Intro to Geocaching event

Cache in the Parks 2013 is an Event Cache in Upper Macungie Township, PA, designed to introduce the Geocaching hobby to new cachers, and be fun for experienced ones too!
When: Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, rain or shine. (Severe weather may cause this to be canceled).

Where: Upper Macungie Park (Route 100 Park), 1625 North Route 100, Fogelsville. The park is located on the east side of Route 100 approximately one mile north of the intersection of I 78 and Route 100. We will be in the HAWK pavilion, at the coords for this Event Cache. (http://coord.info/GC4E56J)

Main entrance: N 40 35.662, W 075 37.796
Alternate Entrance: N 40 35.466, W 075 37.827 (Haasadahl Road entrance)

Who should attend and why: The event is open to everyone, regardless of your Geocaching abilities. The event is FREE.

NOTE: While this event takes place mid-day, food is not being provided. Please be prepared to provide your own sustenance. Update: The site has charcoal grills available! If you wish to bring supplies, you can use them.


The park has a playground for little ones, a disc-golf course, and a horseshoes pit.
We will be placing two "practice" temporary caches around the park, but there are also at least 5 real ones within a half-mile of the pavilion, and plenty of local folks who have found them, to get those smilies as well.
