Upper Milford Board of Supervisors Among Tuesday's Contested Races

Democrat Joyce Moore is challenging incumbent Republican Daniel J. Mohr.

Upper Milford voters will be helping to select an Upper Milford Township Supervisor when they head to the polls on Tuesday.

Democrat Joyce Moore is challenging incumbent Republican Daniel J. Mohr. Mohr has been in office for 12 years.

Moore, 58, is a former Glendon borough councilwoman and council vice president. She serves on the Emmaus/Upper Milford Environmental Advisory Council as well as several boards, including the United Friends School, The Philadelphia Folksong Society, and many governing committees at her church, both local and regional.

A long-time Zionsville resident, Moore attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and has served as a board member of the Spring Garden Children’s School and The League of Women Voters. She is a financial advisor/investment advisor who runs Joyce Moore Financial Services, which has been in business since 1991. Prior to that she was a management consultant.

Mohr, 59, has been a member of the Upper Milford Planning Commission for 18 years. He’s owned and operated Mohrs Plumbing & Heating Inc. for 24 years and has lived in Upper Milford Township his entire life.

Mohr has been a member of the Vera Cruz Community Association since 1989, serving as president, treasurer, and chairman of several committees including the Vera Cruz Homecoming and Halloween Parade committees. He is also a delegate board member of the East Penn Business Council to Upper Milford Township.

Mohr is the current chairman of the three-member Upper Milford Board of Supervisors and is seeking this third term on the board. Supervisors serve for six years.
