Michael Schware Wins Lehigh County Commissioner Race
Republican Michael Schware held onto his Lehigh County commissioner seat, defeating Wesley Barrett in Tuesday's election, according to unofficial tallies.
Republican Michael Schware held onto his Lehigh County commissioner seat in District 5, defeating Wesley Barrett in Tuesday's election, according to unofficial tallies.
Schware had 51 percent of the vote to Barrett's 49 percent, according to the Lehigh County voter registration website.
Schware, of Allentown, received 5,238 votes, while Barrett, of Emmaus, had 5,123 votes, unofficial tallies show.
Barrett won his re-election bid to Emmaus council.
The county's District 5 includes Salisbury Township, Emmaus, Macungie, Lower Milford Township and Upper Saucon Township.
