Anders, Barrett, Labenberg Winners in Borough Council Race

Emmaus voters choose two incumbents, newcomer, according to unofficial results from Tuesday's general election.

Two incumbents and a newcomer were the top vote-getters in Tuesday’s race for Emmaus Borough Council, according to unofficial vote tallies reported by WFMZ.com.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting results, incumbents Brent Labenberg (R) and Wesley Barrett (D), along with challenger Roy Anders (D/R), have been elected to the three open council seats, WFMZ reports.   

Democratic challenger Trevor Schneck received the fewest votes (759) of the four candidates running for the three seats, while Anders received the greatest number (1,299), according to the WFMZ website.

Members of Emmaus Borough Council serve four-year terms.

Barrett also ran for Lehigh County commissioner in District 5 in Tuesday's general election. Before the election, Barrett told Patch that he would take the county post if elected to both positions

But Republican Michael P. Schware of Allentown won the District 5 race with 51 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results.
