Emmaus in the News: Apartment Building Evacuated

Building in the 600 block of E. Sixth Street was evacuated early this morning when smoke from food left on the stove caused smoke, according to news reports.

The Morning Call reports that an apartment building on E. Sixth was evacuated at about 5:30 a.m. because food left on the stove cause smoke to dift through the building.

According to the article, two residents of an apartment building on E. Sixth Street were taken to the hospital for posssible smoke inhalation, said Emmaus Fire Chief Jim Reiss.

Reiss also told The Morning Call that building has about 40 apartments rented to mostly senior citizens.
