Daylight Saving Time Starts at 2 a.m.

Daylight Saving begins the second Sunday in March.

Spring ahead Sunday at 2 a.m. for Daylight Saving Time. Or, if you perfer, move your clocks ahead one hour Saturday night before you go to bed.

Chances are most of your electronics will do this automatically; polite computers will even ask you if it's OK if they adjust the time. (Click OK.)

Yes, we lose an hour of sleep, but you'll probably sleep late Sunday anyway.

DST is also the time fire departments everywhere suggest you replace the batteries in all your smoke detectors. It's a good idea, even if it is just to prevent that annoying beep, beep, beep when the batteries get low.

The purpose of DST is to take advantage of the summer hours. By moving the clock ahead one hour, we effectively shift one hour of daylight from the early morning to the evening ... so you can work more, yeah.
