“U.S.A. Day” Highlights

“U.S.A. Day”

On Tuesday June 18th, C.E.P.T.A. held its meeting in tribute to the men and women who serve(d) us in both military and civil service. We dedicated the meeting to the memory of local Veteran Mr. Bob Kauffman, who recently passed away. We at CEPTA were fortunate to have known Bob, as he was a long standing member of our organization. About a month ago we invited Mr. Kauffman, and he accepted the offer to be a presenter at this very meeting. Little did we know that he would pass away on June 7th, the exact date of the 69th passing of “D Day”. Mr. Kauffman had commissioned a video on his experience visiting the cemeteries where U.S. servicemen who died in battle during WWII are buried. We were fortunate to be able to open our meeting with this video as it fit in perfectly with the essence of this tribute, which was: remembrance of the selfless sacrifice made by members or our military and civil service. The main theme of the meeting was to have all people remember, not only the specific person, but also the reasons why these sacrifices were made.
