LivingRoom Yoga -- Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra Class, Sunday - This Sunday, October 13th, Teri will offer the first YOGA NIDRA to our studio. From 4:00 - 5:15 
Just arrive with your mat and rest into this centuries old, tantric practice which systematically guides you through each layer of the body. Called today's "antidote for modern life," Yoga Nidra is an easy, accessible form of relaxation. No meditation or yoga experience is necessary. 
   Lying down in Savasana, as you do at the end of a yoga practice, you simply 'follow' Teri's voice as she encourages you to return to the inner state of health and wholeness which is your natural state.  Though resting passively on the mat, you remain mindfully aware. In just over an hour, you can return feeling the restorative benefits of 2 - 3 hours of REM sleep. 
   You simply follow along, with eyes closed and body calmed. Yoga Nidra induces the relaxation response in the body and there are numerous scientific studies supporting this practice as a way of improving overall health, reducing anxiety, the discomfort of chronic illness, or other ailments - particularly when done regularly.  There is no 'wrong' way to do it! Simply rest and enjoy.
   The cost is $10 or you can simply use your class card. Please bring your mat, or feel free to use one of ours.
