Zionsville Man Picked to Head Local Red Cross Chapter

Peter Brown of Zionsville, a longtime volunteer with 29 years of experience in banking, is new CEO of American Red Cross Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter.

A Red Cross volunteer and board member with 29 years of experience in banking and financial services has been picked to be the new chief executive officer of the Northeast Pennsylvania Region and Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Peter Brown of Zionsville will assume the leadership role with the regional Red Cross on April 15, according to a news release issued by the nonprofit.

Most recently, Brown was vice president of marketing and sales at the First Savings Bank of Perkasie in Bucks County.

“I am excited to meet the challenge of leading the dedicated team of Red Cross staff and volunteers in the NEPA Region to fulfill the Red Cross mission of delivering compassionate care to people in need,” Brown said.

Brown originally began his involvement with the Red Cross as a leadership volunteer and treasurer. He has served as a board member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter since 2000 and most recently chaired the board’s Marketing and Communications Committee.

“The American Red Cross Northeast Pennsylvania Region is very fortunate to find a leader like Peter Brown,” said Bill Coles, Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

“His passion and enthusiasm for this organization has been demonstrated for many years and his leadership with the Lehigh Valley Board is exactly what we need to deliver the mission, improve services and delivery and continue the financial stability of the Red Cross in this region.”

Brown is a youth soccer coach in Upper Milford Township, volunteer with the Penn Foundation and a member of Bethany Church where he serves in youth leadership. 

Brown received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mansfield University and lives in Zionsville with his wife, Laura Goldy, and their children.
