The Vera Cruz Cafe at the corner of Main Road East and Vera Cruz Road has been closed and dark for the last month or so. Initially, handwritten signs in the window said that the popular local eatery was closed for renovations and due to reopen mid-October. Mid-October came and went and Vera Cruz Cafe remained dark. Yesterday, handwritten signs in the window announced the coming a new restaurant called "Papa Rossi's" and indicated that the new eatery is hiring for variety of positions.
Rossi's Pizza & Italian Restaurant on State Street is not related to the new restaurant, according to a Rossi's manager who spoke to Patch by telephone Saturday night.
