What you sell?
We sell frozen yogurt which we have in self-serving machines. People can come, take a cup, put as many flavors as they want in their cup, add toppings, put it on the scale and then they’re ready to go! We’re going to add to our menu with coffees and smoothies, and for winter we’re also thinking about adding sandwiches and stuff like that.

What inspired you to start this business?
We needed to make a living, and this is really a fun kind of job! There’s nothing around here like this, plus I think the self-serve is a bonus. Whoever came up with that concept had a great idea. You can go and take whatever flavor you want, however much you want, and whatever toppings you want.

Why was this business located in Emmaus?
We weren’t familiar with this area, but lots of people told us that Emmaus is a nice place for hanging out. We started looking and finally in April we got this place!

How long have you been in business?
Since the 4th of July.

What’s the most rewarding part about this business?
We make people happy! There’s a good, fun atmosphere here. It’s been so hot out, and a place like this is needed for people to cool off.

Hardest part?
It’s lots of work. We deal with food, so you know we have to be careful with cleaning and the health department. For the past two months, we’ve had no free time. My daughter is getting married on August 2nd, and I haven’t gotten a dress or anything yet!

What makes this business different from the competition?
We’re going to have a larger menu. Because there are going to be more things, we’re hoping more people will come. One person wants coffee, one wants a smoothie, and we have all that. We also do birthday parties for kids and have a menu option where you can order anything, like cakes. We also want to put some European items on the menu so Americans can try something they don’t normally get to.

Where do you hope to see this business in the future?
I hope it’s going to continue to go very well. Maybe we’ll add some more menu items or another location. Mainly, I wish that people will come here, and we’ll make them happy.

What’s the best business advice you’ve ever received?
Take care of the customers. When you have a fresh, nice, clean place, just naturally by word of mouth more customers will come.

What business advice would you give to someone else?
Think twice! It’s very hard. Especially if the business involves food-- food is very difficult. You have to learn everything about yogurt, the health department, and all the other departments and be very careful with cleaning.

Do you have a role model for what you do?
I think my kids! We are immigrants, so it’s hard to come here with no language, and it’s hard to find a job. My kids believe in me, and I just  try to do everything to help them!

What do you do in your free time?
To relax, I like to lay down and watch a movie to clear my mind. But right now, there’s no free time! No time for radio, TV, news, nothing!

Anything else the community should know?
We’re having a grand opening on July 27th-- everybody is welcome! The mayor is going to be here to cut a ribbon; we’ll have a DJ and activities and coloring for kids. We’re also opening our full menu which includes cupcakes, coffee, iced coffee, espresso, smoothies, and of course yogurt!
