Hess Gas Stations, Farewell

Hess gas stations will be sold as Hess Corp. eliminates the retail gas portion of its business.

Hess Corp. is getting out of the retail gas business and that means it is going to unload its gas stations that dot busy Lehigh Valley roads including Chestnut Street (Hess Express) in Emmaus.

Other local Hess Express locations include Lehigh Street and Hamilton Avenue in Allentown.

The 1,350 gas stations employ about half of the company's 14,700 workers, but account for just 4 percent of Hess Corp. revenue. A Hess spokesman says there are no plans to close the gas stations.
